I started doing drugs at 13 years old. Drugs were always around growing up. At the age of 16, I was married to a 27-year-old man, and I had my first son at age 18. I was a wife and a mother while still being a child myself. By 32, I had 4 kids and custody of none due to my drug use.
I had been lost and broken most of my life and had no ability to live a sober life. I would run to drugs or mental health medication in an attempt to deal with the deep-seated wounds in my heart, but healing never came.
I quickly found myself in jail and my sixth child was in DCS custody.
